So… this is the After Dark version of Kat’s Den… you know, the ‘blog I don’t ever update? Yeah, yeah. So, why another one?

Well, I know there’s folks who read my regular ‘blog that I’d rather not have reading about the squickier aspects of my life. I haven’t really felt compelled to post about those aspects before; but here I’ll have a way to do so, at least.

Why do I now feel compelled to post those things? Well… I’ve never really been comfortable talking about sex. Never wrote erotic fiction or really engaged in dirty talk with my partner because I felt silly saying things like that. Never really been able to express to my partner what turns me on, and never really been able to explain it to myself. I think this came to the forefront of my mind when I mentioned to Flen I was considering making an afterdark twitter account and he said “Why? You rarely say anything afterdark even to me.” And that made me think. Maybe if I start making myself explore these things in the open (well… semi-open) I’d be able to loosen up a bit.
